About the Hub

The Alphington Community Food Hub is an ecosystem of organisations and businesses committed to building a resilient local food system. The foundational pillars of the Alphington Community Food Hub are:

• Demonstrating a local, regenerative circular food economy
• Connecting urban communities with Victoria’s farmers and primary producers
• Building and activating inclusive community spaces
• Making it easier for Victorian farmers to do business in Melbourne

On site, Melbourne Farmers Markets hosts and operates the following:

Alphington Farmers Market: every Sunday, 9am – 1pm.

Commercial kitchen
A class 2 manufacturing kitchen is available to food enterprises for production, fundraising, workshops, value-adding primary produce and initiatives focused on diverting food waste.

Depot
The depot provides cool room, ambient storage and logistics services to food growers and makers. We are a metro link for regional food hubs and community food enterprises.
